A few weeks ago Caroline + I had the grande idea of meeting with Courtney + Nate at an early 8am meeting time in Waukesha, as we figured there wouldn’t be anyone around that early on a Saturday morning and we could get some schweeeet golden sun shots … weeeeeellllll, we were wrong … not about the sun, but about the lack of people. We planned to meet when a few thousand other people also planned to meet … in the same place … at the same time … apparently it was a walk-a-thon for breast cancer awareness, and several thousand people had rocked up to the river front in downtown Waukesha to walk and support. What was truly bizarre was, I had shown up wearing a baby blue t-shirt with a knitted maroon vest over the top … which also happened to be the same colours and look of the walk-a-thon jerseys that the foundation were selling … so I endured quite a few scathing looks from the locals as the guy-who-was-too-cheap-to-buy-the-jersey-but-wanted-to-walk-anyways! Sorry everyone! I didn’t mean any offense – those colours just made sense to me that day!
We had an absolutely fantastic time with Courtney + Nate.. taking photos, drinking coffees, walking around in the sun, chatting and laughing.. What fun! We even managed to take some shots in the local antique store, and get up on one of the historical waukesha roofs! Gotta love that cream city brick!
