a lil love for jayden on his birthday

It’s Jayden’s birthday today …  And when you’re married to someone as sexy and wonderful as Jayden, ya just gotta gush about the man on his birthday!!

While it’s obvious that I already love my job {photography} … I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful it is to work together with my best friend.  Jayden’s creativity is so not-your-typical-bloke, and he inspires me and challenges me to keep pushing the limits on a constant basis!  [He would also say that he is the one with the most ‘technical know-how’ out of the two of us … but, we won’t get into that … ahem ;)]

Jayden is the most patient man on earth.  No, I’m serious.  Ask my siblings.  Ten times out of ten they would pick him over me … not because they don’t love me, but because they see his virtue and wisdom, and they understand how rare and precious it is.  He has the ability to speak into people’s lives, and make a positive impact on everyone that he interacts with.  As a youth leader, I watch *mobs* of teenagers write their school ‘My Hero is…’ assignments on Jayden.  They respect him as a man of wisdom and discernment, but also as someone who knows how to have a good time, and who has a hysterical sense of humor.  I’m still trying to figure out how he has found such a perfect balance of the funny/serious in his life.  It’s totally remarkable, and completely attractive to be around!

Also, a little-known fact is that Jayden writes haikus on demand … and they are beyond giggle-worthy.  He’s been taking ‘commissions’ recently when we’ve been out with friends, and I am quite impressed at how quickly he can write cleverly funny things about quite difficult topics!  Maybe I’ll ask him to write a guest blog post with some of his best…?

Jaydes, you are my best friend … and I really mean that.  Traveling the world with you, photographing the beauty of human beings, making music {and eventually babies} with you are all things that have enriched my life, and made me a better person than I could ever be on my own.  You’ve encouraged me to chase my dreams with everything that I am, and I know that you’re behind me {or even right next to me} every step of the way.  I love ‘doing life with you’ … and every heart-wrenching and breath-takingly-beautiful thing that entails.  I know I’m late to pick you up and take you out for your hot-date-birthday-dinner [sorry!], but I just had to take a moment to write a public gush-note on how much I admire, appreciate, respect and love you as the frickin’ sexiest man of my dreams.  [But is it still OK if I have a mini-crush on Javier Bardem?  You can still crush on Taylor Swift….. ;)]

I love you, Babes.  Cheers to you on your Happy Birthday!!
