We’re coming to the very end of the a-frame reveal posts, (next Monday is the last one… the cherry on top!) but I sure am stoked to show you the dining room update, and “the TV room” reveal today. (Note: the TV room does not have a TV in it. We decided that the a-frame was not a place to watch TV, so we cancelled our subscription and never actually bought a TV…)
First up… the dining room refresh!
When Sarah + Rupe owned the a-frame, the dining table + chairs were already fabulous, and they left them when they moved out. That said, the area felt a bit dark in the evening.. oh, and Anne + I love any excuse to update interiors of any space, (especially if I own it?!) so we gave it a lil facelift.
The table is the same, the chairs are buttery soft + from Room & Board, and we had the Hayneedle pendant installed by a duo of electricians… who had quite a challenge wrestling electrical wires through the nooks and crannies of the a-frame. ha! Poor chaps.
It was great before… but it’s even more user-friendly now. We spend oh-so much time here… eating, working, talking, playing games + sipping whiskey late into the night. You don’t have to take my word for it!
Next up: the TV-less TV Room.
When we bought the a-frame, this room had a lil crib in it + nothin’ else. (The crib was used a ton as in the construction project coming in tomorrow’s post, by the way!) It’s a room right in between the master bedroom + the laundry room, and it’s on the small side, but we knew that we wanted it to have an extra spot for people to sleep.
Anne + I searched high + low for sleeper sofas that were the correct dimensions, and finally landed on a BluDot piece from Wayfair. It was a bit brown’er than we wanted in the room, so we had it re-covered with our favorite Crypton Home fabric.
The BluDot console was going to be where the TV sat… until we nixed that idea. A mirror is so much more a-frame’y, don’t you agree?
Possibly my favorite detail is the Kelly Wearstler wallpaper. She is thee ultimate in my world of interior design heroes, so seeing her design every time I walk by the room puts a smile on my face. Plus, the super-high ceilings mean there’s a lot of the design to love! What do you think? Would you be happy if you stayed in this room on your visit? xx
