It’s not every day that we get to shoot [or blog] a winter wedding covered in snow. In fact, in our 5+ years of shooting, this might be the only one. It takes a brave pair of souls to get married when the weather is so unpredictable, the temperatures might be inhumane, oh, and the sun goes down at 4pm, which complicates your day-of timeline just a bit.
Enter: Erin + Darko. [Coolest name ever, yes? Visions of Jake Gyllenhaal danced in my head when I first read it in Erin’s first email. Just quietly nod if you got the same mental picture. Yes, I see you there, thank you.] Not only did these two get married Christmas week, but they had a destination wedding in Milwaukee, which is the city they were living in when they met as they worked with Teach For America.
Erin + Darko are the kind of people that literally make this world a better place. From Darko’s heroic journey to America as a refuge to their shared vision for youth + education, we’ve been so inspired to know these two and get to capture this season of their story together. We’re thrilled to share a few frames from their celebrations a lil while back. xo
