Emily went to high school with Nicole of the incredible nicole + dan duo, and that is how we had the pleasure of meeting these two fine individuals.
Our first attempt at an engagement shoot was back in May. It just so happened that on our drive to their place, it started raining … no, pouring. We’re talkin’ cats’n’dogs here, people. So rather than turn around and go home, we kept driving, in the hopes that things would lighten up a bit. When it became apparent that the heavens were in no mood to close anytime soon, we ended up sharing a bottle of delicious red wine with Emily + Colin in their fabulous East-Side-of-Milwaukee apartment, and we left as friends.
Then Summer happened, which Emily spent the majority of working with women in Nepal. Super, super cool stuff – I could write about it for ever! So, when she returned, it was time to ‘take two’ with the shoot, and here you will find some of the results.
Colin works for Alterra Coffee, and travels the world coffee tasting, and sharing his bean-knowledge with others. Amazing. Emily is finishing her degree in Global Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee … these two have big plans to travel the world together, and make a difference. They are a perfect blend of intellectualism paired with vintage style, resulting in overall goodness and low acidity.
[I couldn’t help but use some coffee terminology there..] 🙂
Their wedding isn’t until June of next year, but they are already growing their own flowers all around their apartment to use in their big day. Colin is all about orchids, and is growing a range of those, too. We are certain that their wedding is going to be just stunning, and we’re so excited that they’ve asked us to be a part of it!
E + C : your love is our drug! Thanks for letting us raid your apartment to drag out all of your super-sweet vintage cameras and books!! Someday we wanna be as cool as you.. xx
