I have been itching to share this shoot with you folks for ages now, and now that it’s finally ‘goin’ public’, I probably won’t be able to sleep due to the anticipation of whether or not anyone will comment! (Comments on the blog make my day. I won’t lie.) 🙂
So, the Heald Ladies. There couldn’t honestly be any more loveliness crammed into a single frame. The mother/daughter trio of Tina, Catlin + Paige asked me about doing a portrait session, and I was so excited that I felt like I should be the one paying them for allowing me to photograph their beauty. When they asked me for suggestions on what to wear, I went against my typical mantra of ‘avoid the matchy-matchy’ and asked them to wear all white. Three blonde bombshells all in white embodies pure, natural, uninhibited grace, with a fabulous twist of classic Marilyn Monroe glamor. This is the kinda stuff that gets my creative juices flowing outta control!
While I went to the shoot solo, Jayden was a huge part of the post-production process. There is rarely a shoot that we aren’t both involved in, in one way or another. 🙂
After the ladies got their finished images, I received this message from Tina, and loved what she said so much that I asked her if I could quote her here. (She said yes!)
From Tina : “I was thinking about how one sees themselves and how a photo can make them stand back and view themselves differently. When I look at the photos I see a woman getting older, but knowing when I view them in 10 years, I will think how young I looked.
I see my daughters growing up and see in the photos expressions of our life in how we are with each other, how my girls have grown into beautiful young women with their lives in front of them.
What you do is very valuable, your photos truly are a treasure. You were able to capture ‘the real us’ on so many levels. This time in our life is one of new beginnings as the girls start on their own lives and our lives change. I will always view your photos as a very special time in our lives. Thank you again.”
Notes like that make my heart soar. We love our job, but when people like Tina take the time to acknowledge the value of these photos not only now, but in years to come? That is what this is all about.
And so with that, here are a few of our favorites of these wonderful ladies. We love you guys! xx
Great session……I even love them all in white, normally I discourage this as I find it looks a little cheesy, but here it works, I also really like the switch to more trendy outfits, old barns and long grass…..I’m using this as inspiration for a mother daughter photosession I’m shooting later today!
